Little Life Enrichment Center’s Curriculum Statement
At Little Life Learning Centers, we have chosen Learning Beyond Paper for our toddler and preschool curriculum. For school-age, we use a theme-based curriculum designed by LLEC staff. Learning Beyond Paper is a research-based program to help children learn through three outlining principles: 1. self-initiated play, 2. learning environment, and 3. interaction. All three important principles go hand-in-hand with how children develop and grow through their early years.
This curriculum is designed to create learning opportunities for children through peer-based activities and intentional interactions with their teachers. Along with Learning Beyond Paper, we use the PA Early Learning Standards in our weekly lesson plans. The PA Early Learning Standards were created by the Department of Education as a quality learning continuum from birth through school-age.
Our daily schedules and lessons are founded by the idea of the “whole child” approach, growing children' s developmental growths: cognitively, emotionally, socially, and physically. The weekly lessons submitted by our LLEC staff are intentionally designed to properly instruct the whole class as well as each child individually. Our use of curriculum and standards are clearly defined within the classrooms’ learning centers and planned activities where exploration and creativity is encouraged.
Our child assessment tools (Work Sampling, OUNCE, and Ages and Stages) help guide Developmentally Appropriate Practices within our classrooms and individualized learning. We share these assessments with you twice a year in the Fall and Spring.
-We trust that you value these formative early learning years as much as we do!-
