Little Life Enrichment Center History and Philosophy
Little Life Enrichment Center is incorporated and run under the auspice of the Limited Liability Corporation Agape’ Services. Agape’ was formed in 2025 to run the expanding programs of Little Life Enrichment Center. Little Life Enrichment Center is the fictitious name that is used to provide childcare services under Agape’ Services LLC.
Clark Agapakis was the original owner of Little Life Enrichment Center, since 1997, operating as a sole proprietor until incorporating in 2025. He holds two Master’s Degrees, has taken his PA Directors Credential for Graduate Credits, and has taken thousands of hours in trainings for ECE since 1997. He has served on local and statewide boards to advocate for families and Early Childhood Education; both locally and at the state level. He has managed to grow an Early Childhood Program to levels of quality that are uncommon, where staff want to work and where parents want to bring their children.
As mentioned, Little Life Enrichment Center has existed in New Oxford since 1997, when Clark Agapakis had a 16-month-old daughter and the thought of putting her in care somewhere appalled him so much that he started his own daycare. He wanted a safe and nursing environment where she could learn, laugh and grow. Today he brings with him this same spirit and wants the same level of care for all children as he wanted for his own child in 1997. He often says, “In all situations I put my daughters face in the place of any/all children to ask what I would want to happen for her”.
The principal of Bermudian Springs Elementary School asked him to start a before and after school program in their building to serve children and families who need before and after care in the School District. This site is for school year and school days only and is run as satellite site of the New Oxford facility. In July of 2025 LLEC acquired the childcare facility at 50 Expedition trail Gettysburg from the Y of Hanover Area. With the acquisition of this program the high-quality care that has been known in the New Oxford area will be brought to the Gettysburg area.
LLEC has operated as a 4-star program in the Pennsylvania Keystone Stars Program and has been a PA PreK Counts program since the program’s inception. We believe that learning should be fun, child centered/driven and is a natural process for children given their natural curiosity and desire to explore and master what is in front of them.
We use a Department of Education approved curriculum, along with using the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards in our lesson plannings. Besides developing a Child’s IQ (Intelligent Quotient) we believe it is also equally important to develop a Child’s EQ, there Emotional Quotient! A child needs to have the self-confidence, self-belief, strong identity and the ability to work with others. With this positive EQ a child can go on to achieve whatever they want in life.
Each site has a Parent Advisory Board to give parents a voice in programing and quality and is part of the feedback loop. The parent Board also supports the staff and the learning environment and has a part in all special events.
LLEC pays staff better than most childcare programs and creates an enjoyable work environment where staff want to work. Because of this we historically have little of the staff turnover that plagues the rest of the ECE field. In Human services you are only as good as the humans who are providing the services! Our tag line of “HAPPINESS GROWS HERE” came not from a marketing session but came directly from the parents visiting our center for the first time. I kept hearing over and over during these visits, parents say “The children seem so happy here”. If children are happy to be here, then parents are happy to leave them here! Come and find out for yourself.
